Many of the customers you will want to attract have decided to no longer make debt a part of their life. As such, they are likely to no longer be in possession of credit cards to make online payments with. For others, it can be easier simply to have the money withdrawn from their bank so that they will not have to make a payment to their credit card company later on.

Automate Recurring Payments

A simple way for customers to join subscription services is to not have to worry about making their payment every month. Electing to have a service that simply takes their payments out for them will free consumers from the headache of making monthly payments, and it virtually guarantees that they will never be late with a payment.

It also keeps customers from having their services cancelled because they did not pay on time. As a merchant, you will not have to collect payments as much as you will simply wait for them to be drafted from your customers’ accounts. It also saves money, as you will not have to send out invoices or hire staff to send them out manually. It is good for the environment, too, as no paper is required for the transaction.

Allow Users to Pay Without an Account

Many businesses are eager to have their clients register an account before they can make payments, and the reasons why are manifold. The user is generally expected to provide their email address, and this can enable the firm to send coupons and sale information to the client that can potentially lead to another purchase.

The problem with this approach, however, is that it can drastically complicate the process of checking out and making a payment.

The other side to this is that many people would rather not come up with a user name and password that they will likely forget the next time they want to purchase something from your outlet. Instead of creating a requirement that may turn many customers away, allow them to check out as a guest, thus simplifying the process.

Expand to Accept Mobile Payments

For a growing number of people, using their phone to do their shopping has become the most simplistic form of commerce of all. Many are no longer logging on to their desktops or laptops to complete purchases but want to do so with a few swipes of their finger. The number of households that report to having cell phones is at nearly 80%, and this growing segment of shoppers represent a large number of overall online purchases made.
